This is a logo for an event that our organization is sponsoring. It is an event specifically for people who sew.

Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors:
Light neutrals: Purity, balance and sophistication.
Dark neutrals: Formality, mystery, exclusivity and luxury.
Yellows: Energy, intellect, fun and youth.

"SewpBox Derby" is a play on the original "Soap Box Derby". I am looking for a design that incorporates the vehicle, has a sense of movement, and represents the "wind in your hair" kind of excitement. And it all has to relate back to sewing. So, on many of the logos, they incorporate flames. I like flames, but for this logo, instead of flames you use tape measures flying in the breeze? It would also be great if the image had a retro feel. I've attached a few images I found on line as inspiration, but I'm not tied to any of them in particular. Thanks for your help!
