A winner was selected from 125 designs submitted by 28 freelance designers.
Trance Mansion
We throw progressive trance parties (Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Deadmau5) in New York City clubs. We emphasize a sexy, positive, open, personable mindset, and we're all about electronic music.
You can check us out more on http://www.trancemansion.com
These are the three elements we're looking for:
As you can see from the examples, trance logos usually use very
1) simple, modern/futuristic, glowy fonts. In addition to this, we're considering mixing in
2) a flamboyant, classical/18-19th century ornate style too. This also fits with our new venue. Check out 2 pics of the place:

and 3) we would also like logo to be sexy without being cheezy, meaning possibly a sexy female image or symbol
It may be hard to make the three work but here lies both the designer's challenge as well as the originality of something that hasnt been done before in the trance music world and for which you will hopefully get recognition and kudos.
If these 2-3 concepts don't work together then feel free to submit a simple design as this may indeed be the best one.
Thanks for participating and good luck :)
Also, please send us an email with your profile name in case we want to work with you in the future even if you dont win (I dont know if Ill be able to contact you guys at the end of the contest). Contact info is on our website. Thanks!

UPDATE 1:
To summarize these are the elements that I like and may need to be developed:
SIMPLICITY of design and color, teal/turquois seems to work best but I'm open to inclusion of pink and blue (see # 6).
HOT DJ CHIC image seems to work best if we're going to have a female image at all.
GLOWY NEON AND FUTURISTIC font, in keeping with trance logos everywhere, seems to continue to work (my two favs are # 6 and #29).
Try to continue incorporating an ornate, baroque, classical element in the design but if we can't make it work then forget about it.
I like the look of number six design, in terms of appearance, simplicity and coloring. The green/blue Teal or turquoise like color also seems to work, but I'm still not precluding blue or pink depending on the design. The font is very good, it's original and modern but a bit too linear (like the 'a's and 'e's). The glowy, subtle shadow effect over a subtle dotted background pattern is also really good. I also like the idea of an equalizer pattern like in number 12 somehow incorporated, so maybe instead of the dots an equalizer pattern might work? The subtle dotted background pattern does already work though.
Not married to this idea but am throwing it out there: I like the image of the girl in our logo contest flyer a lot (http://www.trancemansion.com), both her looks and her positioning. Am wondering whether we can incorporate an abstraction/shadow/outline of such a squatting, hot chick DJ image as well. But I'm close to abandoning the hot chick image in the logo concept if no one can make it work.
The full body image of girls is sexy but seems a bit cheesy. Maybe it's because they're just posing in standard poses. Maybe it's because it's been done 1 million times before. I'm thinking if we add headphones (turntable/cdj) or a DJ type image with a sexy girl that may work better. Also maybe more of a close up (medium shot) element of a girl, her headphoned face, or her body could work too. Not to offend anybody but I'm thinking our female image should not have the buxom hip-hop big butt body type, which I'm seeing in a lot of the designs (# 9, 10, 29, #8's back that ass up had me lmfao!). The more I think about it, it may be that the best way to incorporate a sexy female image is to have her as a DJ-type image. I want our sexy girl not to just be a bimbo or sex object but intelligent or substantive (kind of like the girls that liked our music and come to our parties), and I'm thinking the DJ image can help with this.
I like the idea of an emblem-like logo, which honestly is the best way to go if we can make it work (if you look at ultra music Festival or Armada etc. it's this emblem like logo and simplicity that seems to work best). So the emblem-like concept of number 26 is good. I like how angels wings were incorporated, I'm not crazy about the selection of wings themselves, but it's a good attempt at incorporating a classical, Angel-like idea in their. I'm guessing the head over the emblem has to go too, but wonder how you can incorporate a female figure with some sex appeal in there. Also wondering whether headphones and/or spending a turntable/cdj-type female image might also be able to be incorporated.
Despite all this, one or more of you may be harboring a great, original idea that's waiting to see the light of day, so these are just my impressions to serve as guidance and I'm still open to something completely different.
I want to thank all you guys for continuing to participate and will be online more frequently to give feedback over the next two days.
