InJersey is a new network of local news blogs, expecting to launch in the next month. The sites will feature content posted by local newspaper reporter, with heavy contributions from community leaders, businesspeople, and citizens. The sites will be all about local community news and community conversation.
At launch, there will be six pilot sites -- Freehold, Collingswood, Vineland, Cherry Hill, Madison, and Flemington -- with more expected in the weeks and months to come.
See a demo of what the sites will look like here:
(the logo design that's in there now is just a placeholder)
Community activists, local business owners, municipal employees, and people with a passion about their town.
The InJersey logo needs to do double-duty. The two key layouts required:
1. For the town pages, the InJersey should be a secondary graphic alongside the much larger, more prominent town names -- e.g. MADISON/injersey
2. It should also be able to stand on its own for branding purposes -- on the root site, promotional materials, etc.
For #1, it's important that the town name be editable, as we will be adapting this graphic for multiple sites. For an example of a similar type of design, see:
For #2, please make sure the design is able to scale both large and small.
Please submit logo in both town-name and stand-alone versions.
1. The final logos should be delivered in Photoshop and Vector formats.
2. The final logos should translate into black and white
Possible design concepts: road signs, map pushpins, directional arrows, conversation bubbles, "welcome to xyz town" or "now entering" signs
