How MghnCnnllyHpt started their logo design journey
Meghan Connolly Haupt
I appreciate beauty and craftsmanship, and strongly believe that both should be attainable without having to make compromises. I started C5 company because I recognized a void in what was being offered by the traditional jewelry industry…conscious consumers had no options. The fine jewelry industry has thrived for a long time under the same model with devastating social and environmental impacts.
C5 jewelry is not just metal and gems, but rather represents the commitment you make to yourself, your family, your friends and future generations to live with regard for others and the earth. Our pieces allow you to wear your commitment. Our custom jewelry is made with recycled metals and only ethically sourced gems traced from mine to market. This makes us truly unique.
After 2 years of custom services, I have decided to launch a ready-to-wear luxury collection under my own name. The brand will be the first of its kind to offer beautiful, sparkly jewelry made with minimal social and environmental impact. This brand needs to make an impact immediately upon launch. We want to stir up this antiquated industry.
Jewelry price point $1000 - $10,000.
The original C5 company tag line is "Wear Your Commitment." This does well, but is much softer than what I will likely use for the MCH brand.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Primarily women (though men do shop jewelry as gifts for women).
30 years old and older
Two different groups:
1) well traveled, educated, tech savvy, socially conscious professionals who want to feel good about their purchases, willing to spend extra on products they believe in (might drive a hybrid and shop at Wholefoods)
2) baby boomer, wealthy, luxury oriented women who love jewelry and want to be on the cutting edge of fashion (socialites, may not as concerned with sustainability)
The Meghan Connolly Haupt sustainable fine jewelry brand is:
- high quality
Logo can be the name, symbol representation or both.
Current font is Futura, but am open to changing.
The collection is under my name because I want consumers to feel a real connection. I do a lot to put myself out their as a pioneer of sustainable luxury, but my name is cumbersome. The logo could incorporate my initials, but certainly doesn't have to. It's just a thought.
