The Institute for System Analytics and Control (ISAC) (http://www.uni-kassel.de/eecs/isac) of the University of Kassel represents the association of three departments:
-Measurement and Control
-Control and System Theory
-Intelligent Embedded Systems
It addresses systems that are largely or completely autonomous and that adapt their behavior to dynamic environments and requirements in a goal-oriented way. The focus of ISAC is on methods for measurement and automation, data analysis, system identification, control, and optimization, as well as machine learning and pattern recognition. Research at ISAC is multi- and interdisciplinary as well as application independent.
The considered class of systems is relevant for different application domains, as e.g.:
-Mobile and industrial robotics
-Automotive and traffic systems
-Power grids and plants
Targeted are R&D-groups in companies and universities as cooperation partners to e.g. jointly carry out projects but also students should be attracted to with the institute.
