I'd like the logo to be fun, yet simple, with a dash of
wit/irreverence/whimsy and appealing to both kids and their parents.
It should also clearly communicate that it's related to
filmmaking. (Note: A clapboard is the special i.d. board used at the
beginning of each take when filming that tells the production name,
director's name, scene, slate and take.)
NEW NOTE: (THIS IS ONLY A SUGGESTION AND DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PART OF
THE DESIGN.) A banana peel might also add a dash of whimsy to the
logo. And, there is a reason for it. The first film made in the
classes was something called, The Banana Man! It was a short, black
and white silent film, where the main character kept leaving banana
peels on the floor in the hopes of getting someone to slip. He, of
course, is unsuccessful and, in the end slips on his own peel.
Although a pretty basic slapstick type story, the students loved it.
So, I thought including a bright, yellow banana peel - especially if
the logo is mainly black and white, would add a nice dash of fun,
irreverence and color. Again, this is just a suggestion.
Thank you for taking the time to read through my design brief! I hope
it inspires you to submit a design!
