We are a fast paced start-up that is designing a database technology that will be used on the Google App Engine Cloud Computing Model. We want to show that we are a state-of-the art company that allows for users to create, manage and update a database structure that is unlike anything available. What is unique? With little practical experience a user can create a database structure that allows for the storage of content, documents, web-links, relationships such as many-to-many connections and interface that allows for the use of that content as web-pages.
Why do we call it ArachnoDB? Because our database relationship functions a lot like a spider web. Just as a spiderweb has threads attaching many parts of the web, and by following these threads you can navigate to any other place on the web. We allow for data to be related to any other data either directly or through other data elements through there web of relationships. For example a cusomter may use a product, that product is related to other products, and those products can be related to other customers. From there you could navigate to other product, suppliers, users, costs etc.
This is a true spider diagram, but we relate anything to anything easily through the click of a mouse.
We appeal to small to midsized businesses that want to create a database to manage the customer, products, sales people, content for websites, data, images, videos, documents relationships,etc. Everything is stored on the web. Nothing is stored on the PC, it is Cloud Based, or virtual.
Also there are no real technical skills required.
In addition, this is for companies that need to store and retrieve data from anywhere, with multiple users spread out with different roles and responsibility.
While want a creative and free thinking design we also want to convey a message of state-of-the-art. We also want to stress that there are unlimited relationships that can be created. Most important is the concept of Cloud or Virtual storage of the data, this is cutting edge not the standard old world concepts of data storage. Also we don't follow standard database models, ours is easy to use, access and secure.
