Someone else once said...
"I would like a creative, professional yet simple logo design for our software marketing company. Logo must be easy to use on any and all advertising, T-shirt, embroidery, website, etc. and something that may become an internationally recognized icon."
Yeah, what he said, except for the software marketing bit :)
Lunar Unit
We are a small outfit of really cool Rubyists doing web work. I am a big fan of the space program and astronomy, hence the name. I whipped up an example with a look that I like, of course I expect a real designer will quickly eclipse me. I cannot use this because the image is copyrighted.
Obviously not too creative, but what the heck, we write software :) I do like the font, and the lunar lander idea is kind of cool, but certainly there is room for other ideas... The fonts are called Space and Astronomy and APHont.
I had an idea for a tag line that read:
"Don't tell us the sky's the limit, there are footprints on the moon!"
Of course I saw how fricking lengthy it was and moved on. We might still use it somewhere else on our site, but for logos? Yeah, not so much. Anyhow, you probably get the idea of what we are trying to convey. I have high hopes and high expectations ;)
- graphic: moon, lunar lander, man on moon, first steps on moon, etc...
- colors: blues, grays, heck I don't have too much of a preference, I'll tell you if I don't like them :)
- format: winning artwork needs to be provided as a PSD
- too many colors, unless they are integral to details in the graphic
- stars
- stock graphics
