MyAppVille.com
MyAppVille.com is a team of veteran Mac and technology writers that will be reviewing iPhone, iPad and iPod touch apps and accessories online. In addition, we will provide 'How To' tutorials on better using these products. Our culture is built around both print and online content related to the Mac and Apple's other products. One of our partners is a former editor of iCreate magazine, so his experience lies in working with designers and communicating a direction and vision (translation...we talk the same talk you do).
This site is aimed at all users of iPhones, iPads and the iPod touch but will likely draw a discerning group between 20 and 50 years of age. They are tech savvy, understand the web 2.0 style and appreciate clean, well-designed graphics. The site aims to provide a more editorially driven alternative to the current app review and listing sites with lavish design and coffee table-style feature content that makes it a cut above the rest.
The MyAppVille.com logo needs to be memorable, clean, colorful and distinct while incorporating a community feel. We don’t want cartoon styles or overly tacky visuals, but a solid and professional brand. We’re open to a variety of ideas ranging from initials to typography, display type to symbols, shapes, structures and crests.
The design needs to be cool and fun but at the same time professional. The typeface needs to be clear and bold. Inspiration should be taken from Apple branding in terms of space and form but we’re not after a direct rip off of the style. Consider the parts of the name, open your mind and wow us with professionalism, creativity and style.
In terms of its use on a Web page, a visitor should be immediately given the sense that this site is the most stylish, high quality app review site on the web and one that provides authoritative advice.
The MyAppVille.com logo will be used primarily on the Web and on Apple-branded mobile devices but its use on business cards, letterheads and other promotional materials as a corporate identity should be taken into account.
An additional competition will be posted for the overall site design so any further inspiration on how the logo design could impact the rest of MyAppVille.com would be beneficial.
