Entertainment & The Arts
Goodness Gracious! Productions is a production company specializing in stage and video production. Originally rooted in the Christian faith, we now reach a broader audience with educational initiatives such as literacy, tolerance and good citizenship. This logo design is a challenge as we have many arms and appeal to people of various ages and social/economic backgrounds. We operate primarily in the Rocky Mountain region of the US, however our video project will expand those boundaries. Some initiatives, such as our literacy project are more targeted for youth, but the logo design should not be designed specifically to appeal to or represent children. We are a fun, energetic and creative organization. We utilize theatre, creative movement and even puppetry in our productions and we are inclusive of all people, so the logo should not focus on any specific art form (but incorporating several forms is OK), nor should the logo represent any one faith system. Our theatre division works primarily in the affluent suburbs of Denver, our literacy program will focus more on rural and urban communities. I have uploaded the logo for our nationally award winning puppet troupe, one of the first divisions formed within our company. The logo does need to reflect the core of what we do, which is stage and video production so that when people see the logo, there is an indication of what we are about. If using a graphic, consider production lighting (spotlight or par cans on a truss) as that would represent all facets of our company. (NEW NOTE: At a meeting last night, it was brought up that we use a commissioned parody of "Great Balls of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis as an opening for some of our productions. There was some discussion about the idea of a 50's retro look to our logo. We are not leaning one way or another on this idea, but wanted to throw it out there in case it inspires a creative spark.)
Logo types to explore
The full company name does not need to be on the same line and "Productions" can be less prominent than Goodness Gracious! Please note the exclamation point at the end of Gracious. Also, cast and crew wear shirts with our logo. We typically embroider the logo rather than silk-screen so please consider the feasibility of embroidery into your design.
