BLOCKSMITH
Blocksmith is an in-house developed software product which is used by geologists and mining engineers in a mining company.
Blocksmith provides a drag and drop visual design process which allows users to automate data preparation and ‘block model’ manipulation processes. A ‘block model’ is representation of real-world geology as a 3D grid of blocks (think: Minecraft/lego but for real world data).
If using a blue, please use #13294B if possible
The name Blocksmith is (obviously) a play on the word ‘blacksmith’. A blacksmith creates metal products using a forge, anvil, hammer etc and we like the associated imagery this world recalls. Blocksmith workflows deal with data manipulation, calculation, modelling etc. but we like the ‘real world’ and ‘physical’ imagery associated with a blacksmith’s workshop.
The logo could use elements of blacksmithing updated to a digital age setting.
Mining as an industry deals with big equipment, explosives, and lots of hands on work which could also be incorporated into the logo.
Blocksmith is a system which facilitates collaboration between different roles and groups within the company and so we also like imagery associated with old socialist propaganda art etc.
The logo needs to be able to be used to create a recognizable icon and be suitable for stitching onto shirts.
Design to be gender and ethnicity indeterminate (definitely nothing macho).
