Entertainment & The Arts
Misapplied Sciences is an entertainment technology company that creates personalized public experiences and environments. Our entertainment products combine the best of two worlds - allowing participants to share in the spectacle, community, and energy of crowd events and settings, while simultaneously benefitting from customization to their individual needs and tastes.
Logo types to explore
We’re seeking a logo that communicates our counterintuitive approach to creating and inventing, and our philosophy of blending imagination with science. It feels like the logo wants to be fun and whimsical, perhaps playing off the company name by showing a misapplication of science - such as a microscope being used as a hammer; or maybe juxtaposing science and entertainment iconography - such as roller coaster vehicles spinning around an atom. Symbols of visual sciences such as eyes, prisms, projections, or light beams might be good; but other science imagery, like atoms, microscopes, DNA strands, or circuits, could work as well. Entertainment icons might be inspired by symbols found on a 1950s theme park ticket or in a vintage amusement area guide book. Please don’t feel constrained - these are just suggestions! We’re excited to see your fresh thinking and perspectives. The audience for the logo will include folk who love good design, including media companies, entertainment executives, and venture capitalists. We welcome your design perspective, but admit to favoring a couple styles: Mid-Century Modern (Mary Blair, Eyvind Earle, Shag, ‘50s TV Animation); Steam Punk (Jules Verne); Art Deco; and WPA-era Silkscreen Posters. We’re intrigued by clever uses of a limited color palette. Above all, have fun - we’re hoping for a logo that makes people smile!
