We are a family owned business with a long history in Montana. Our current products include Vodka, Cherry Vodka and Coffee Vodka with additional flavors in the works. Our creativity in developing our flavored vodkas, comes directly from the agriculture that Montana offers. We are connoisseurs of all spirits. Our continuous research and development has enabled us to fine tune our craft of small-batch distilling. Our spirits are properly distilled the old fashioned way, in-house from beginning to end, using quality sugars, grains, fruits and spices.
The Montana Distillery -1889
The MT Distillery
Our distillery is located in Missoula, Montana. Our little niche of the Big Sky has a diversified population including sports and outdoors enthusiasts, professionals, artists/musicians/writers along with the University of Montana’s students, professors and staff. We will distribute throughout the state of Montana, the West Coast and to Canada. Our patronage is based largely on tourism and our locals. In addition we will be entering spirits competitions and promote our products through out the US, so our brand needs to stand up beside the finest in the industry to represent MONTANA.
We need a logo which can be incorporated into packaging for vodkas, gins, and whiskeys with different brand identities, on signage, in print and on the web, and on promotional items. *We may purchase runner-up designs we like for use on t-shirts and other promo items.* We are planning on using both “The Montana Distillery -1889” and “The MT Distillery” logos on merchandising such as T-shirts, flasks, shot glasses, hats, bags, etc. We want to see a wide variety of designs but here are some guidelines to follow:
No cowboy or Old West. We are based in Montana, but there is more to MT than western/country.
Our motif is the prohibition era of Montana, not Chicago. Our distillery and tasting room will be set up with old barn or pallet wood, galvanized tin/metal and Montana antiques from the 1910-1920‘s. Think Crackle Barrel or a River Runs thru it, but little more up-scale. We are old-school moonshiners and want our patrons to be able to step back into the past when they visit us.
The logo must look high-end, confident, clever but not too busy. Not corporate. We need detail, fun and not stuffy. We want to appeal to the diversity of people that reside in Missoula & Montana as well as outside tourist.
A little humor or a wink to the consumer is OK as long as it is done with dignity and is clean.
Looking forward to seeing your wonderful designs and Thanks to all for your efforts!
