BPG - Motors
I am a 20 yr old engineering student at MIT.
I recently started a company which is developing an all electric motorcycle/unicycle called the Uno. The project started out as a highschool science fair project and has turned into a full time job.
I have always loved motorcycles havign grown up watching OCC, Monster Garage and Junkyard Wars. My grandfather was an engineer and I spent countless hours playing around in machine shops as a kid. I like extreme sports and have also started another extreme sports company which builds this really cool powered snowboard/skateboard called the DTV ( http://www.bpg-motors.com ) .
My favorite kind of music is house and trance.
School is not necessarily my thing, but i see it as an amazing opportunity. But my real passion is pursuing these kind of projects. I'm planning on branching out into regular electric streetbikes.
The Uno first became public a year ago when the magazine "Popular Science" chose it as the invention of the year for 2008 and placed it on their cover. Since then, the Uno has graced magazines and newspapers around the world including the wallstreet journal, The New Yorker, The Chicago Times, National Geographic etc.
for more information google : the Uno, Ben Gulak,
Since we're developing a brand around these new vehicles. Hopefully the target audience is pretty big.
I think the Uno appeals to both motorcycle enthusiasts and green activists as well as urban commuters. It has something for everyone. It's small, compact, entirely electric and fun. It is a viable alternative to gas powered scooters, bikes and mopeds. I see the demographic being people between the ages of 18-35
The DTV Shredder is something entirely different. It's fast, fun and literally a beast. It is greener than other ATV style vehicles and is less damaging than dirt bikes. The DTV can go over any terrain from mountain sides to beaches to ski hills. It goes 30 mph over anything. I'm selling the DTV as a new extreme sport and military transport (because of it's rugged nature)
I'm building a company around these new vehicles. But I'm also planning on building electric Conventional Street bikes.
This is really open ended. I'm hoping to see a variety of different styles and designs.
I want a Logo that represents BPG - Motors and can be used for all of it's subsidiary companies, projects and products. I'm looking for something simple, recognizable but still really unique....revolutionary
We have some Really cool products that haven't been done before . The logo should be fun.
- Original Type Face ONLY
- colors: neon green, greyscale, black, white, Uno Orange, cobalt blue, really anything that looks good
- I really like Crest type logos. I actually have a family crest that I can email designers if they are interested in using parts of it. (just make sure it doesn't look too much like porsche or any existing logo)
- I also really like design logos. Audi for instance is so simple but instantly recognizable. Be creative
also, look at my other previous contests for some inspiration/comments
