Stinky Teddy
We are building a new metasearch engine that uses the chatter and gossip from the real-time web (twitter, etc.) to figure out the meaning of search queries. We are not a real-time search engine, but instead a general search engine that utilizes the real-time web to improve the search results.
The company name (Stinky Teddy) is based on my kid's favorite stuffed animal. For a while this thing was with her 24 hours a day, and often would get dirty and stinky. You can see a picture of Stinky Teddy #3 (the first two have been lost) on the web site (http://www.stinkyteddy.com). I happened to own this domain, so when I needed to put up a prototype of the search engine I put it there. The name seems to have some memorability and sticking power, so we are going to use it.
Currently, I'm using photos of the teddy bear, but the creators may object. I'm looking for a logo that incorporates the spirit of Stinky Teddy along with the text of the name.
My target audience is middle age housewives from the midwest. I want them to consider stinkyteddy.com to be a fun but trustworthy alternative to Google for the searches. Who can you trust more than your childhood teddy bear? And who was with you for the happiest days of your life?
I also want a logo that makes the name stinkyteddy stick in people's head.
I will be using this logo in several places, on the home page search box, on the search engine results page and in advertising. It will generally be to the left of a search box. It needs to look good in multiple sizes.
I also need a favicon version which incorporates that same design theme but doesn't have any text (right now I use a close up of stinkyteddy's face).
Nothing can be copyrighted or public domain -- I must own the final copyright.
In terms of output I'll need:
1) Editable source file (psd format that is importable to GIMP) for both logo and favicon
2) jpeg file of logo
3) .ico file of favicon
