How valeriaL started their logo design journey
Penrith Ultrasound for Women
I am a 46 year old medical specialist, mother of 4 and I have a Sydney based medical imaging practice in specialist obstetrics and gynaecology. I see my practice as offering a warm and personal, but at the same time professional, service to women in our area. We offer a highly skilled and specialist service in this niche area.
Our practice aims to mainatin a high level of medical service while acknowledging and enjoying the excitment and happiness of expectant parents and providing a compassionate place when things go wrong.
Many of our patients are also nonpregnant women who come for investigation of gynaecological problems and expect a professional and dignified experience.
I am hoping to badge the practice with something that is distinctly feminine- not soft and frilly but warm and strong. It needs at the same time to be clear and simple in keeping with medical professionalism.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our market is an existing referral base among general medical practitioners and specialists in Western Sydney. Though the practice is well established we have recently changed from a partnership to a solo practice and so the new logo establishes a sense of change in direction. We hope the new logo will be part of the re fit of the rooms, will revamp the stationary and front a web page soon.
Our patients are diverse and include women from teens to old age from many different walks of life.
A logo that can form the basis of a glass sign outside our rooms, be incorporated into a letter head and mark our literature and patient handouts.
I am happy to consider colour or simple tonal images and/or embossed logo.
We would like the feeling of the logo to be easily associated with the female mark of our business but also convey a sense of friendliness/happiness. This is more important than a depiction of ultrasound waves though is the two can be worked together then thats great.
I would like to avoid something too visually complex or multicoloured.
I am happy to incorporate the name or not as the designer prefers but I would like the practice name shown with the logo with a suggestion re font style. I am happy to break up the name of the practice and change font/iltalic
