How Henrik.kaessmann started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our research institute, the Center of Molecular Biology (acronym in German: ZMBH) belongs to the University of Heidelberg, Germany (our webpage: https://www.zmbh.uni-heidelberg.de/ ). Our institute performs world class molecular/cellular biology research and student education. Thus, the target audience is scientists and students in particular, but also politicians and the general public. As part of an effort to redesign our current webpage and improve our overall branding, we would like to have a new institute logo (see slide 1 of uploaded file for current logo).
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
For the new logo, we have come up with a basic idea, namely, we would like to have the acronym of our institute (i.e. "ZMBH") to be embedded within an abstracted structure of DNA (slide 2 of uploaded file), which represent the fundamental molecule in our research and basically consists of a double helix . Based on one of the DNA structures we retrieved from the web, we illustrate the idea of slide three of the uploaded file on the top left.
Please note that the new ZMBH logo should be modern and dynamic and harmonize in terms of shape, color and font style with the official logo of the university (top right of slide 3). For your info: the principal color of the university logo is "Ox blood" (Pantone 1805 C) and the font is Trade Gothic Bold/Trade Gothic Light.
