Rethink Disposable is a project of the environmental non-profits Clean Water Fund and Clean Water Action. The project focuses on reducing single-use disposables, such as paper coffee cups, disposable food packaging and plastics bags.
The project is about using fewer disposable products to begin with and replacing disposable products with reusable products. For example, we encourage businesses to offer incentives to customers to bring their own coffee cup and to serve customers who dine on-site on reusable dishes. We are currently partnering with restaurants and cafes to help reduce single-use food packaging.
Note: while we support recycling and composting, this project is NOT about promoting single-use recyclable or compostable items. We are focused on reducing waste before it is generated instead of diverting waste from the land fill.
We work with local governments in the Bay Area, a variety of food service businesses and the public. We need a logo that is accessible to all of these groups.
