D-CHN is a relatively small company based in RI that provides metal finishing services. We have invested during the economic downturn to develop new technology, and earlier this year, we filed a patent on a completely new type of anodic coating where we partially convert amorphous oxides into micro-crystalline oxides. (This has never been done before.) The benefit is that it offers fantastic chemical corrosion and superheated steam resistance which dramatically expands the application areas where aluminum can be used. Unlike other corrosion protection coatings, MICRALOX is RoHS compliant (ie, no bad heavy metals such as chromium) and can be colored whatever color the end customer wants.
We are looking to develop a strong brand identify for this new material - like DuPont's TEFLON.
Our target market is MEDICAL device manufacturers who have CLASS 1 products (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medica…l_Controls). In addition, the sales and marketing people within these companies need to know about MICRALOX as it offers new features that can help them differentiate their products. Examples of target companies include orthopedic equipment manufacturers (Stryker, Zimmer, etc.). Examples of specific applications for MICRALOX include sterilization cases, containers, trays, and modules.
There are a lot of other markets that we can serve beyond our target market. Cookware, automotive, marine, and other areas where a MICRALOX would better protect their articles.
Lastly, we want to have a brand that can be remembered by end users who will purchase the final goods. Usually these will be business buyers (hosptials, etc.) in the first instance, but overtime we expect that consumer products will use the technology as well.
We need an outstanding LOGO that has a unique feel to it that will be remembered by our audience, that conveys the idea that this is new, patented technology, that is green, has outstanding performance, and solves real problems. (Can this be done in a logo???) If you can help with a by-line (based on what we have provided above) that would be terrific.
