MATTER is in the process of a logo exploration and we need your help to find the right design. Like the name, we are a company that is all encompassing of the creative process, from concept development to shooting to post production and design for TV, Film, and Advertising. Our logo should be representative of our company, our work as well as the name itself, MATTER, which everyone and everything is made of and is something that cannot be created nor destroyed.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Open to all ideas. Feel free to bend and break the rules of the brief as you see fit. Most importantly, MATTER is looking for a standout logo that that we can use outside our office, on our web site, along with letterhead and business cards but also a design that would look great on a t-shirt and possibly even on other merchandising.
Would love to see examples of a just typography, just an icon and the combination of both. Keep in mind that it's important the typography has the ability to stand alone as well as work well with an icon and perhaps other typography. For example, if Matter was to pitch a funny concept, the cover page would have a bunch of "HA HA HA HA HA" surrounding the word, Matter. Because of course in this case the pitch would be a "laughing matter."
Need to include the word ”MATTER” Can be upper or lower case. You could also play with the words "Matter Creative Agency."
Feel free to use, but do not feel you are limited to elements like a film reel, camera, periodic table, rocks, stars etc...
Think Nike. Think Apple.
Sophisticated, yet relatable. Smart, clever, inventive... even aspirational. If Matter was a person, he/she would be a person you could trust with your children but also someone who wasn't above acting like a child. Matter in a lot of ways is like your best friend, someone you enjoy hanging out with whether it's at a party or sitting around at home. Their witty and a risk taker, but never are they inappropriate, hurtful, embarrassing or out of control.
Last thing to remember is simple is better.
Stiff and pretentious.
Busy or overcomplicated.
Cartoony or slapstick.
