Additionally, the model of our society has changed with the nuclear and dispersed family. The computer and the internet have become an integral part of the family process and, thereby, have broken down the barrier of acceptance of this medium. The internet has opened a new venue for this celebration of life to be etched in the ether with all the advantages of pictures and video. It’s fair to say that people are looking to leave snapshots of themselves for others to see and experience. e-M-e-m-o-r-i-a-l-s™ (remove the dashes), first and foremost, is a memorial site that should feel respectable in style and feel to the average user, but yet allow the user a way celebrate the life of the deceased and utilize the site, in many respects, to go through the grieving process. The design, color scheme and layout should come off very professional, clean and tight. The use of colors is definitely encouraged and should give the visitor a sense of hope and inspiration. The logo should definitely include a graphical element and not just be letters. The use of web 2.0 techniques will be favored with the idea that there is a good sense of contrast and create a very clear brand identity. http://www.tutiki.com/logo_files/Logo_Design.pdf http://www.tutiki.com/logo_files/Logo_Color_Palette.pdf  Description: For a brief inspirational video, check out this scene from the movie “Soylent Green†http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edQNjJZFdLU Ignore the dialogue, but focus on the music and the scenery. We all forget, since we are living our lives, but life is meant to be a beautiful gift… so celebrating life, after it has passed, is also meant to be a gift. Things to Consider for Logo Design: - Should be reflective of a positive and upbeat feeling with good use of contrasting colors (minimum of 2). - Should be inspirational and catch the eye. - It needs to be balanced, though, with a respectful undertone. - Should include a graphical element integrated into the logo, but shouldn’t dominate or confuse someone’s ability to read the website name and tagline. - Should be memorable and should create a brand identity.Things not to include in the Logo Design: - Avoid overt death themes or symbologies like gravestones. - Do not use any religious symbols. Logos should be religion neutral. - Should not be depressing or dull.Color Palettes: The color palettes presented are meant to be mixed and matched rather just used straight into the design process. As the graphic designer, you are not obligated to these color palettes in any way to achieve your design vision.
