rchampieux got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Metrics Toolkit: A platform for understanding how to evaluate research impact
Check out rchampieux's Logo design contest…
Our project will provide an easy-to-understand, research backed guide on how research impact metrics should be interpreted and used for tenure, grant applications, and more. Our aim is to make this webapp a must-use resource among American universities (and hopefully, the world over!) within the next two years. Librarians and researchers will use this toolkit for education and advocacy. The toolkit would consist of relatively simple textual explanations for various types of metrics and how they can be used as evidence of impact. The graphics and text could be optimized for online and print use. Something similar to Why Open Research (http://whyopenresearch.org/) in the use of graphics and text.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty. Aquas: Empathy, compassion, clarity and precision. Dark neutrals: Formality, mystery, exclusivity and luxury.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
rchampieux collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
