How Alex33342002 started their logo design journey
We are providing music knowledge integration (from various Web sources), discovery and recommendations. Using our service, people can, for instance, identify all punk-rock bands from NYC signed on CBS or all Motown female singers married with an english drummer. We are also providing recommendations so that from one seed artists, people could get a list of recommended bands - and know why these bands are recommended.
We're building the product because we are music (and Web) junkies and believe that there is a need for such a website. We are the kind of people spending times reading bios of artists, buying records and reading inner sleeves, from lyrics to acknowledgements.
From the technical side, we are using Linking Open Data technologies (http://linkeddata.org) to identify connections between artists and build our product.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We target music junkies, people that are constantly looking to discover new bands, new genres. That are interested in anecdotes about the social and cultural aspects of the artists / bands they are listening to (from food habits to cause of death or cultural involvements). Record collectors, people going to shows, reading inner sleeves, looking for a rare test-pressing at a record convention, etc.
We provide B2C (public website and search engine) and B2B services, where other music websites can use our data to extend their services, using an open API.
Something simple and straight, but at the same time, that does not give a too-corporate and old-fashion image of the company. A logo in which people can directly identify what the website is about, and feel the music-junkie side.
No image / picture on the logo, but integrated pictogram / icon is ok.
Something that fits well both in large size (e.g. stickers) and in small one (button on a website using our API).
The current tagline is "Reinventing music discovery". You can try logo with and without it.
