Drawdog was very responsive to our comments and provided an efficient service. Though our design in the end was not that complex and this was our first attempt at using this service he made it very easy for us.
How Josh Barsch started their logo design journey
Check out http://www.givemescholarships.com -- it's a free scholarship advice/tutoring site based on my experience as a scholarship judge and donor. Lots of traffic already -- need an engaging logo!
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
I need a new header image and logo for the website. I am a scholarship judge and philanthropist who has given away over $100,000 of my own money in scholarships over the past 6 years. I wrote a book called "Confessions of a Scholarship Judge" detailing all of the various ways that students screw up their essays and get disqualified. I also discuss the bias of scholarship judges, which is very unique to the book. Anyhow -- GiveMeScholarships.com is a free site based on the book. Full of info that most high school and college students do NOT know.
The site needs a more attractive logo and header image. Also, there will soon be a feature of the site called "Ask Judge Josh," a podcast featuring a different student every episode, asking me whatever questions they have about the scholarship judging process. I'd also like a logo for this, since it will also be featured on the website.
- The logo must have "Give Me Scholarships" and ".com" in it. Other than that, I don't have a lot of particular guidance to give you -- I'd rather let you have some license in creating something that looks good. I would say, though, that I have a very conversational, shoot-from-the-hip, no-bullshit style. I am the anti-Professorial stereotype. At the same time, unlike most people who write about this sort of thing, I am a primary source of information -- I've served on dozens of scholarship committees, and as I said above, I've paid out a great deal of my own personal money to scholarship winners. Hence, my advice is worth more than your high school guidance counselor's (blunt, but true). If your logo can reflect these ideas, then that would be wonderful.
- I'm open to pretty much anything and look forward to everyone's designs.
