LoveTransfusion.org is a non-profit organization designed to help individuals facing a terminal illness, loss of a loved one or any other devastating situation.
Specifically, the service provides a means for people to express their love and concern for others online. Each "recipient" gets their own personal page where they can see the love transfusions as they come in.
The following screenshot is a very basic representation of what the page would look like (the actual design is yet to be determined):
Notice the map with arcs coming into the recipient. These are the "love transfusions" (the map area is being built in Flash) and they will remain on as a visual representation of being connected with the recipient at any time of the day. (NOTE: The example shows a map of the United States but this will be a free service for anyone with an Internet connection anywhere in the world.)
Other forms of love transfusions will include text messages, photos and videos which the recipient can view as often as they want.
Each recipient also has the option to post updates on the site to keep everyone informed of their progress/situation.
