I have a small--but quickly growing--research consulting firm in the Washington DC area. I provide assistance to the international global health community on how to design, execute and analyze qualitative research on a variety of global health issues (i.e. malaria). I also provide training to in-country staff (onsite) on qualitative research methods.
The term 'in situ' is defined as "in situ means to examine the phenomenon exactly in place where it occurs". Hence why I chose the name for my business...I offer my services where the research happens. *Please note: I do not offer laboratory services or anything biomedical. So please no laboratory beakers, DNA, microscopes, etc* My focus is on qualitative research and training in a global health setting.
My business clients range from large bi-lateral (and relatively conservative donors) such as USAID, DFID, Dutch Government, and WHO to new players in the development game who are doing things differently (i.e. Bose, Gates Foundation, private high-net worth individuals) and are looking for something different. *Building in-country capacity for local nationals to evaluate their own programs and to generate quality evidence is a HUGE focus in development right now* . The same old same old approach to training is not working and I am trying to occupy the business niche of 'something different'. I still need to ensure my maturity, professionalism and technical expertise are retained. A simple, clean, bold and slightly 'edgy' logo is what I am after.
