Voice Actor magazine aspires to be the premier digital magazine for English speaking voice actors and voice over artists online. we will have interviews, competitions and articles about all aspects of the craft with a focus on entertainment, education, news and problem solving. We will use video, audio and text. There will be a companion blog site and social media pages as well. Our target audience is from 16 years to 35 years, the median being 25 years so we want optimistic, authoritative, creative, fun, smart and professional in one glance, at app size!
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
The magazine will be identified as simply Voice Actor in a banner across the top of the magazine in much the same way as Rolling Stone magazine. The magazine will feature the main interviewee for that month as a large single photo, (1536 X 2040 pixels - 300 dpi), and, like Rolling Stone and many other magazines, the photo will obscure part of the banner in different issues. The magazine cover will be first seen by prospective subscribers as an app in Apple News Stand which means that the elements will need to be large to be seen. The font that we like is Georgia (attached) and the colour is "perky" (see attached swatch). The colour will change from issue to issue but not the font - as for the font we offer Georgia as a reflection of the maturity, elegance and class that we want to project but this can give way to other design elements, in other words, change the font as the overall design requires.
We were originally going to set up a competition for a logo but then it occurred to us that the magazine cover and banner is the logo.
