The text below describes the 5 design views we are looking for. The login, Reports page view, and Share story view will be commissioned with the designer after the contest.
A flow chart of how the app is structured is attached. The highlighted blue items are the design views that are to be included in this contest. Also attached is our company logo for the top nav bar. Please contact us if you have any questions or need any clarification. Thank you.
X Login screen (this view will be commissioned later and not included as part of this contest)
Tiled navigation-Home screen
Tiled card/grid view of the users’ content modules. Every user will have 4 standard tiles; an email reports tile (this takes them to a list of their daily/weekly reports), an economy tile (takes them to the economy view), saved/bookmarked tile (stories user bookmarked) and a Add New Module tile where they can select/remove additional content/topics that is available to them.
**note (7/16/2015): this is the most important screen, feel free to play around with shades, shapes and transparencies. A few appealing tiled navigation screenshots have been uploaded.
Settings menu (this menu slides out as an overlay to take up no more than 3/4 (ideally just half) of horizontal screen real estate when clicked on from the top nav bar). Sample of menu elements below (not set in stone, we may add more elements later as needed).
- Log out
- Font size
**note (7/16/2015): a few sample menu screenshots have been uploaded**
X Reports page view (this view will be commissioned later and not included as part of this contest)
Headlines page view
-when user clicks on a report from the reports page view, this screen will show them their report’s news headlines by section.
This view will provide the user with 2 actions items; bookmark headline or share news headline. Provide a confirmation or indicator when a headline is bookmarked. If user chooses to share the headline, take them to the Share screen view (this view to be commissioned later). If a user clicks on a news headline, it will take them to the full story view. Method to bookmark or share the headline is up to designer, you can use action icons, or a checkmark and a static bottom action menu, swipe, etc.
**note (7/16/2015): Our headlines have NO images and are quite long. It is very important to note they are grouped and separated by sections! A sample daily report has been uploaded with actual headlines. Please reference it.**
Full story read view
-when a user clicks on a story from the headlines page view, this page displays the entire news story with the option to save/bookmark or share the story with a colleague. Provide a confirmation or indicator when a headline is saved. If the user clicks on the share option, it will take them to the share screen. A static bottom action menu on this view makes the most sense so the user can choose to bookmark or share the story regardless of where they are in the news article.
X Share story view (this view will be commissioned later and not included as part of this contest)
Calendar page view
-this displays earnings events occurring during a month. Since mobile screen real estate is limited, find an elegant method to show events in a monthly, weekly, or daily view. Please refer to the screenshot of a sample full page calendar in the attachments package. The screenshot shows the events calendar from our web site. Please come up with a creative way to display this calendar and events on a mobile screen. Each event label can be limited to about 18 to 20 characters. Clicking on the event will take them to the event details on our website.
**note (7/16/2015): Sample calendar wireframe uploaded. One method is for top quarter of screen to select month and calendar week, scrollable bottom 3/4 to list events**
Economy module view
This is a combined report view w/ 3 sections; economic headlines, graphs and data tables.
-economic news headlines section will use the same format as the Headlines page view
-graph example: use 1 bar chart and 1 line chart. Provide 3 elements for each graph type, for example, the line chart should have 3 line colors and a legend.
-generic data table w/ header row, design sample should have 3 columns and 5 rows
**note (7/16/2015): Sample wireframe uploaded**
