Entertainment & The Arts
Tonecrusher is a free ringtone app in the iTunes app store. It also has premium ringtones available for in app purchase. We have been around since 2005 and in the app store for over a year. The ringtones are all recorded and produced by us.
Clean, 2D look for buttons and main filter knob. The filter knob needs to big enough that the user can easily interact with it. It could also be multi-functional. For the list of ringtones I would like some separation between the icons and the title, maybe with some shadowing or texture. The play and more icons are just placeholders and need to be designed. Apps to use for inspiration: - iTunes app, plays previews in line with spinner loading icon - Twitter, very clean design - Figure, music sequencer app from Propellerheads - DM1, drum beat app
See attached screenshots or app store link for current app workflow. For this new design I want to simplify and really create a clean, 2D look using a white, grey, black and maroon color palette. You can use different shades from what is in the Illustrator files. The main entry point into the app is the center focus tab bar. This needs an icon as does the other two tab bar menus. Also need icons for the play and "more" buttons (the arrow) and the about, free and premium functions. The play button should have a pause/stop icon while playing. The arrow brings up a menu with options to save, tweet, like, etc. The center focus screen should have a dial / knob design with 10-12 points around it that the user can "dial" and filter the ringtone list below. They can also use secondary filters "Free" and "Premium". I'm open to interpretation of where the free and premium filter widgets are placed and how they look. Same for the knob and the screen in general. If you have a UI concept that is really great and works better please present it. Examples of filters are "hip Hop" or "Orchestral" or "Mellow". The name will be displayed below the dial, once a filter is selected. I've uploaded Illustrator files so you can play with the knob and swoosh from the Tonecrusher logo.
What to avoid
I DON'T want a dark design that has an Android look and feel. The design should be based on white and grey with icons and graphics with maroon, black, grey and maybe some other colors that match. Light and clean not dark.
