zimmpatrick got their new app design by running a design contest:
Mobile app for doctors to understand the current recommendations for mental health medications.
Check out zimmpatrick's App design contest…
Medical & Pharmaceutical
The app guides users through a series of algorithms to find first choice, second choice, and follow up medications for a variety of diagnoses.
Clean, professional, and easy to use are top priorities. The app is based on algorithms so possible theme might reflect, lines, arrows, connection points. The team values simple icons over illustrations. Prefers the use of main colors and possibly one - two accent colors used sparingly for highlight or attention. Main logo is yellow (#F6D25C) and charcoal (#333333). Accent colors are up to designers- prefer fresh, lighter, and slightly desaturated hues such as deep teal or apricot.
#1 Algorithm Selection Page The user should be able to see a list of algorithms which can be searchable and filterable. There should be an option to “favorite/star” algorithms that will be highlighted when the user opens the app a second time. #2 Key Information Page The user must select diagnosis for the patient they are currently seeing and demographic information about them. Diagnosis Gender Age range (child, adult, elderly) Each diagnosis will have a series of questions to guide the user to the correct medication bracket. This can be a separate page or running questions. The main goal is that it will be easy to navigate and easy to understand. Each algorithm will have factors such as medical comorbidities (additional diagnosis) that will change the options for some patients. For example, a patient with certain comorbidities should not be prescribed Medication A. There should be a way to choose from a list of additional comorbidities (we have a list of 5). These will change the list of medications. Questions will include: Yes/No (True/False), Multiple choice (field of 3, 4, or 5 answers), and Check if True. At the end of the questions, we need a button for the user to move to the medication recommendation screen. #3 Medication Page After answering questions, they will be directed to a choice of medications. The medications all have dosing information, side effects, and notes sections. We need a way to show medication information as well as a follow up question. Users who answer the follow up questions in such a way that determines they need a second medication choice will be taken to a new medication page. It will function exactly the same way until the user indicates a successful medication regimen to the follow up question.
