How cdwhiteiv started their app design journey
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Entertainment & The Arts
Our app will allow users to pick previews of songs and share them with their friends. The idea behind the app is to make it very easy and seemless to share your music interests with your friends, while making it easier to discover new artists. There is a big "support the artists" culture within our small team. We value simplicity in design, and buttons or icons that clearly display their meaning.
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the app?
Something surrounding music and music discovery. Use of negative space a plus. Would appreciate a tri-color design, with the ability to incorporate some sort of musical illustration in the logo and loading screen. Pretty open to interpretation, but keeping in mind the reason for the app.
MDR (Music Done Right)
The first screen I want you to create will be the loading screen. This will showcase a great logo design and color scheme, and will be the face of our app. For the design, we are open to you using either the initials MDR in the logo or not. Your choice. If there is a design you come up with to best illustrate the idea behind our app without using the initials we would love to see it. We are not tied strongly to the name of the app.
The second screen will be the "Music Feed" screen. It will act much like Instagram's picture feed screen, but will have music information (artist, song, album art) instead of pictures. There will be an included picture for this screen so you can see the general layout. I don't have design skills, as you'll see.
Users will be able to tag their activity/mood to the song preview they choose. Users will also be able to filter their music feed according to these tags, hence the filter looking button at the top left of the music feed. Other important buttons: Menu at bottom left, move to "Now Playing" screen at bottom right, the "Clip" button at bottom middle (creativity here appreciated).
