richardryanfox got their new app design by running a design contest:
Tapadiddle - A clean, simple iOS metronome app for drummers.

Entertainment & The Arts
It's a dead-simple metronome app for drummers that will have the following features: Voice counting for each measure Tempo change every 4 or 16 measures Drum rudiments playing along with the user so they can hear if they're practicing correctly.
Simple, flat, iOS 7...I want it easy for drummers with sweaty fingers to be able to reach over and tap buttons confidently while still playing. Most metronome apps I've seen have tiny buttons. I want to avoid that.
2 Screens: Setup and Playing. Setup: This page should let users pick a drum rudiment (or none) that will play along with them, the minimum and maximum tempos, voice counting, if the exercise is meant for hands or feet, how often the tempo should change (every 4 or 16 bars), and a play button. When they hit Play the metronome starts. Playing: This should show users the drum rudiment they've chosen (I already have the graphics, designer just needs to leave a space for me to fill in), the current BPM, Min and Max BPMs, some visual indication of what beat (1- 4) it's currently on, a visual indication of what bar (1-16) it's currently on, 4 quick-access buttons to turn on/off the voice counting, turn on/off looping, turn on/off the drum sound (not pictured in my mockup), and switching from hands/feet, and then a Stop button to replace the Play button.
What to avoid
Avoid small and cluttered. This has to be easy enough to reach over and tap while still playing the drums.
