We use a series of tools to monitor the visitors to a client's website - we then match the IP addresses of these visitors with the client's email database in order to build up a picture of the exact visitor to the website and what they looked at.
This information is highly valuable to an investor relations professional who is trying to determine which potential investors have been on their website and hence which potential investors should be called or emailed. This is part of what we call "investor prospecting" and it's something that's built into the client's CRM and email marketing programs.
We use a program called Jumplead to do this. And many of the materials form the Jumplead website can be re-used in our new sales documents with the branding and some of the language replaced with our own.
The big difference between how a regular person would use jumplead and how we use it is that our clients are focused on driving 'Analysts and Investors' not sales and customers.
