Company name

Overview

SYNAQ is a pioneering technology company situated in South Africa that develops email services and solutions for small to medium sized businesses in Africa. Our solutions are all delivered via "the-cloud". Meaning that we've invested in all the technical stuff (the hardware, the software, the people, the systems, etc) so that our customers can get all the good stuff (spam free email, email archiving, email collaboration, branding and more) without having to worry about the technicalities behind it or the cost.

We are a young company passionate about what we do and changing the world in our own small way. Our company mantra is "reducing the barriers to technology" and we're passionate about making technology simpler, more affordable and more accessible for our customers in Africa.

We're designing this infographic for two reasons.
1st reason is that we've entered into a prestigious competition where our business will be judged by 3 sets of judges and we want a slick infographic that can explain what it is that we do to impress them like crazy! The final is taking place on the 11th of November so we've got to be ready then!

The 2nd is that we want to use the same infographic to describe our services to potential customers and partners for the next while.

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach

There are two target audiences for this project.

Target audience number 1:
6 judges of entrepreneurial businesses. Each of which are successful business owners and entrepreneurs themselves. They will be assessing our business based on our ability to scale, uniqueness, competitive advantage and if they think we're making a difference. We want the infographic to explain what it is that we do without it being too technical but still coming across as extremely professional, well thought out and like we're a company that gets it. This will be printed on high quality paper and given to them during the interviews.

Target audience number 2:
The second target audience is for our customers. They are typically Internet Service Providers or Mobile Network Operators that want to offer their customer base email services and solutions without having to make the necessary investment in the infrastructure themselves. We allow them to white label our services and earn high ongoing margins for every customer that they've signed up. The platform we've built does all the billing, provisioning of services, white labelling and management - all they need to do is sell! We want the infographic to be able to explain this to them very simply but again in a very professional manner.

Requirements

We're not a design house, we're a bunch of techies trying to change the world in our small way so we need you to be creative in how you can package what it is that we do into a succinct info-graphic that will impress!

We've done some hand drawn mock-ups that tries to explain it, feel free to use these as the basis of the design or deviate completely.

You will see in the hand drawings that we've tried to design two different types of envelopes. The one is a normal envelope, the other is an envelope that tries to look like the African continent with South Africa at the bottom. We're about bringing mail and breaking the barriers to technology in Africa (hence the second design). We're not sure which will work better so we'll leave that up to you.

To explain what we do.
We have 4 major services that "live" on the cloud.
1. Email and collaboration that has chat, document sharing, calendar sharing and address book (the envelope)
2. Email security (the shield)
3. Email archiving (the filing cabinet)
4. Email branding (the squigly looking thing)

These services can be accessed, anywhere (home, office, road), anytime, on any device (iphone, blackberry, mac, pc, linux, android).

We then speak about our ISP or Reseller and what they get.
Automated billing and provisioning to the customer, rebranding the solution, ability to earn margins, etc

Good luck and knock our socks off!
