We're needing album cover art for our upcoming library "Drive".
The genre of this library is Modern/Today's Country Music. The cover needs to portray a combination of earthy, raw, country textures and elements; but have an overall feel, attitude and look of a rock music. We're definitely not looking for "country kitchen" and "old-timey" country music here....It would probably best to approach this cover as a rock cover with a bit of country. The focus of the cover needs to be placed on the title "Drive".
I've decided not to give any specific instructions on what this cover should contain or look like but have attached several covers from our existing libraries to this document, to provide you with ideas, concepts; etc that we've successfully used in the past. Please take time to carefully look over these to see the style, quality, detail, textures, coloration; etc that we love in a great cover. The covers that I think represent the look and feel of this "Drive" cover are. "americana country" and "fury". A combination of those vibes will really work well. Please don't use an eagle on this new cover since we obviously aren't simply looking to recreate a previous cover; but rather the look and feel, attitude of these mentioned covers.
You can also check out most of the various covers here
Please realize that the cover art is typically seen by the potential buyer in a thumbnail size on the website and so the title must be large enough, interesting and readable at this thumbnail size, as well as make sense in the enlarged size. Since the title is so important please place creative emphasis on the title and don't simply use a generic font.
We've found it best not to not typically use "instruments" as the focal point of the cover; but rather to keep the focal point on the title. The exception to this is when the instrument has been "treated" in a way as to not make it look like a typical realistic picture of an instrument ie. "pop n soul" cover - see attached pics. 95% of our covers do not use instruments for the cover and we think not using them usually works best.
Any use of clip art; etc needs to be royalty free, all rights free and clear and needs to be disguised. Typically we're not a fan of simply using a royalty free image, slapping on a generic font and calling it an album...Care needs to be taken when using royalty free art to customize and craft the image.
The winner of this job will need to provide a "layered" PSD file of the Album cover and a "layered" PSD file of the Banner (Basically a smaller sized version of the cover used as a banner on the website. Will take you an extra 15min tops to create and is included in the price and requirments of the job. We've attached a banner to give you an idea)
Album Cover - 1737 x 2350 PSD
Banner Cover - 640 x 300 PSD
We are currently creating 1-2 products a month and are in need of a freelance graphic artist to provide these covers on an ongoing basis. We also currently have several covers that will need to be created over the next three weeks so the winner of this job will also be given the option of a good continuous job opportunity.
Please feel free to ask any questions that might allow you to create a more creative and effective cover.
