We are a regional, professional symphony based in a community outside of Los Angeles. We have 6 concert weekends per season, from October through May.

**UPDATE: This postcard will be mailed in the US, so on the back, half the card must be blank - and WHITE - for address information. We are holding this design contest for a direct mail post card (5.5 in x 8.5 in) but the real purpose of this contest is to find a designer to build an advertising campaign for our symphony’s upcoming concert season. The follow-up work will include reformatting the same creative for various digital ad sizes, print ads, posters and banners (detail below). We are calling this concert “Love, Betrayal…and Dancing!” The highlight of this concert is a Flamenco ballet starring a well-known Spanish Flamenco dancer, Siudy Garrido, performing El amor brujo by Manuel de Falla. The purpose of these ads is to sell tickets to our concerts and increase brand recognition. Our season includes 6 concerts performed from October 2017 through May 2018. Please keep in mind that for all campaigns for each concert, we will want a cohesive, recognizable design that: - Carries the same design across all media/sizes (digital, print, posters, etc); - A similar design/look/feel/concept/theme that carries across all concerts, to strengthen brand recognition. This similarity could be carried across in style, use of image, color schemes, graphical elements, etc. Postcard Contest rate: Silver @ $299 Phase 1 of the campaign: Finish ALL media for concert #1 by September 20th – for $ 750.00 Phase 2: Complete all media for concert #2 by October 15th for $ 1,000.00 Phase 3: Complete all media for the remaining concerts (3 through 6) by November 15th for $ 3,000.00 Below is information on what we need for each concert (media types) and a brief description of each concert. We prefer stylized and graphical design, to create a unified/consistent look & feel across all concerts in the season. For each of our six concerts, we need a design that carries across the following types of ads and media: Additional ad/media sizes for each campaign: Digital Ad sizes: - 300w x 250h - 728w x 90h - 320w x 50h - 300w x 600h - 500 x 500 - 520 x 60 Print Ad sizes: - 6 x 5.25 inches h - 4.925 w x 10.50 inches h - 10 w x 10.20 inches h - 10 w x 5.05 inches h Postcard size: - 5.5 x 8.5 inches - 2-sided - 4-color design on front; concert details on back Posters: - 8.5 x 11 and 5.5 x 8.5 inches - 1-sided - 4-color Stand-up Banner: - 32 x 69.5 inches - 4-color The whole season can be found at www.newwestsymphony.org. Pinchas Zukerman Conducts and Performs a. He’s a very famous violinist and he’s also performing with his wife, a cellist. b. His face is not recognizable, but his name is very well known. Violin and cello, perhaps. 5. Viva Vienna! a. Classical music favorites from Viennese composers, Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms. b. No specific guidance on image ideas 6. Dvorak’s 6th Symphony a. This concert will have all Hungarian music. b. No specific guidance on image ideas.
