Entertainment & The Arts
We create and license contemporary musicals for kids age 7-14 to perform. The musicals are created by a team of writers in New York City and Los Angeles. We license these musicals to schools and theatre organizations around the world. We provide these organizations with a digital production kit that includes everything they need to produce the show. Our target audience is anyone who works with kids in theatre. This could be a school drama teacher, a community theatre director, or a youth arts instructor.
What's your vision?
We’re looking for a contemporary and stunning poster for a new musical we are about to release. The poster and title art will give the show its visual identity and will be used to promote the show. It will also be available to schools who license the show for use on t-shirts, posters, programs, etc. The musical is called “The Claw” and takes place inside a claw toy machine at an arcade. The story is about two best friends, a cow plushie and a dragon plushie, who try to leave the game together by holding on as the claw grabs them out of the machine. Layout Direction: TOP: The poster must include the Beat by Beat Circle Logo somewhere on the top. The colors can be changed/edited to match poster if needed. You can find the logo files here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4vpv1urtndxc0e7/AADeQW79wE3qATAImm0eT8CSa?dl=0 TITLE & SUBTITLE: The title text of the musical, THE CLAW, must be large and clear and the main focus of the poster. The title should also be able to stand on its own to be put on a kids’ t-shirt. Underneath the title is should read in smaller size “A New Children’s Musical" (without the quotes) CREDITS: At the bottom should be the credits, which will read: By Denver Casado, Jessica Penzias, Kerry Kazmierowicztrimm, Christyn Budzyna & Jack Mitchell So the text on the poster should be: - Beat by Beat Logo - Title & Subtitle - Credits Design Direction: Since the show takes place inside a claw machine, the main visual element should include an image of the claw. It’s important that the claw feels fun and playful, and not scary or menacing. Dangling from the claw should be the silhouettes of the two toys, the cow plushie and the dragon plushie. The claw should be holding the dragon and the cow should be holding onto the dragon. Please see sample illustrations attached with this brief as inspiration. At the bottom of the poster should be a silhouette (or something similar) of all the toys remaining in the toy machine, looking up at the two friends holding onto the claw. The background/texture should be bright and eye-catching. One alternative option for the title text of the show is “The Claw” surrounded by an image of a claw. We DO NOT want anything too "kiddy" or “cartoony". Should have a very contemporary, simple and clean feel. Should all be illustrated or feel hand-made - no real photography or clip-art. No stock photos. Please see attached images as inspiration. I also included previous Beat by Beat poster designs to get a sense of the styles of our previous posters. Thank you!
The resolution must be suitable for printing at poster size (40” x 27” one sheet, vertical) Would like the title text of the show to be able to stand on its own and be usable as a logo to print on T-Shirts, etc. Ideally this simplified logo could include the illustration of the claw.
