Small-business owners and managers looking for support of projects ranging from marketing, social media, communication and business development. Helping to acquaint businesses with the concept of crowdsourcing and virtual team possibilities, how to get things done without necessarily hiring on new staff.
The goal is to convey to business owners that they can get things done through crowdsourcing and that they don't need to interview or go through a long hiring process to make things happen.
I am looking for a design that would work in US-standard letter sized paper 8 1/2" by 11" and printed in landscape, and folded in half with a cover, two facing pages inside, and back cover with contact info.
I have a story board in mind that goes like this:
Headline: GOOD NEWS! Things are finally starting to pick up!
BAD NEWS? Work has really been stacking up!
If you need project help now, but you're not ready to hire new staff ...
JOIN THE CROWD! (need a good image that fits into this concept)
The attached concept sketch is incomplete but should give you an idea of the direction I would like to go with this design. Use stock images (particularly illustrations and "cartoon" like characters but with consistency in the type of characters and images used from frame to frame) and make it look a little like a comic book strip. (Think Dilbert)
Provide a list of the types of projects that can be done through crowdsourcing: social media strategy, marketing campaigns, ghostwriting, email campaigns, presentations and designs, virtual team support
And answer the question, WHAT IS CROWDSOURCING?
"Crowdsourcing is the act of taking a job traditionally performed by a designated agent (usually an employee) and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people in the form of an open call." - Jeff Howe, WIRED
