This is the cover for an ebook (in PDF), so no spine or back-of-book cover is needed.
There will be at least 4 ebooks in this series when the series launches in ~2 weeks. The series will be called "Copy Hackers"; each book will cover one specific topic, such as writing headlines. More ebooks will follow, which could (and would likely) mean additional work for you.
The purpose of each ebook is to teach entrepreneurs how to write copy that will improve conversion on their website. Each ebook is specific to one topic.
Your first job is to come up with the look-and-feel for the book covers. That is, you will provide the cover for the first book, and every other book cover will be a variation of that first book cover. For example, you may decide that each book cover in the series will be a different color but will otherwise look the same. Do not let that instruction limit you; but please do have a vision - even a simple one. (In fact, simple may be best!)
Your second job is to provide a view of that ebook cover in a tablet --- as if the book is being read on an iPad. This is standard and expected in ebook publishing. Because we're not asking for a back-cover or spine, we hope this is acceptable to you.
WHAT GOES ON THE COVER
Every book cover will have the "Copy Hackers" title (the brand) as well as a subhead comprised of the number of the book in the series (e.g., "Book 1") and the descriptor for that (e.g., "Where Messages Come From"), followed by the author's name and title.
Please be aware that you are helping to shape the Copy Hackers brand. Please also be aware that the book subhead will be critical for helping people tell the difference between each of the books in the series.

Standard book cover size (8 1/2" x 11"). We will need a high-res version to display on the site. There are no restrictions on colors. Richer, eye-catching colors that really pop are more likely to win us over than muted colors.
The book is targeted at startup entrepreneurs and developers. It should look extremely easy to read but info-packed. It should look 'serious' but also very compelling --- like some of the best non-fiction books out there. Although the ebooks are not going to be expensive, we want them to look very high-value.
We are open to seeing what you recommend. You may wish to use imagery or just typography.
