We want a CD package designed for Astrofly following the specifications of Amazon's CreateSpace. We used this service when we released our first album The Art of Flight.
Here are the specifications
Trials is an album written primarily by Davin Hutchins but inspired by the events and interests of his 5-year-old son Jibran Hutchins. Astrofly takes its cue from world music, electronica and trance. Specifically it has elements of electronica, jazz, Arabic, Cuban, Gaelic and Native American music.
We will award the album cover design based upon the logo design. The logo should be an astronaut with a helmet with angel-like wings. The logo should be abstract, not literal, and symmetrical - but clearly an astronaut with wings. (See Journey's Greatest Hits Cover and DaVinci's Vitruvian man for ideas. Use of glowing circles and lines encircling the astronaut is encouraged, think blueprints, star charts, etc.).
The band name "Astrofly" and the title "Trials" should be separate from the band logo. (See Coldplay's first three albums for reference).
Track listings and liner notes for the album artwork will be provided once the album / cover logo is designed and approved. The album artwork will draw from the ideas that Jibran likes and inspired the albums. These include:
- Halloween, Skeletons (think Tim Burton, Danny Elfman)
- Spaceships, Astronauts and Droids
- Tron Legacy
- Renaissance Festivals
- Cowboys and Southern Gothic Culture
We think these ideas might best be represented by collage or tiles. (See U2's Achtung Baby album cover for reference).
The feeling should be cool, dark and mysterious. Jibran is not your typical 5 year old.
Here are links to 3 songs on the album.
