The product is a dust mite trap that easily and safely removes dust mites from your beds, rugs and carpets in your household. Basically any place dust mites like to reside.
This trap is simply a rectangular or square piece of cloth (dimensions 6 in. x 4.25 in.) with the thickness of a small hand towel, that one can place on top of their mattress under the bed cover. It works by having a non-toxic chemical that attracts the dust mites and once they enter the cloth a gluing agent traps and immobilizes them.
This is a product that originated from Japan. Since this is a new type of product that has never been seen before in the U.S. We want the front of the package to be able to hook in the customer and convey what it does in a clear manner.
Dimensions of the package can be something that can fit 3-5 pieces of these cloth traps which are 6 in x 4.25 in. We are currently using plastic bag with paper sheets inserted into front and back. We are open to different possible materials and ways of packaging, but we would like to keep it as efficient as possible.
We are open to a different name other than Nite Mite (ie Fite Mite, Mite Mat, etc.), but so far it is the front runner.
The back of the package can explain how it works and how to use it. We think we'd prefer a lot of the information to be conveyed with pictures/diagrams instead of written down, but use your discretion.
However, we would like to have these terms or ideas on the package:
- Easy to use
- Non toxic
- Eco friendly
- No pesticides
- Easy disposal
- Replace after 3 months
- Helps relieve allergies and asthma caused by dust mites
- Do not expose to water
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not put in your mouth or skin. The attracting agents will attract the dust mites to you. If mouth or skin is exposed please wash the area immediately.
Our target customer will be people with asthma and allergies to dust mites. Also, parents of children who have asthma or allergies and are concerned with the dust mite problem in the household.
*edit - Attached our pictures of the packaging that is in Japan. I included them in order to give you an idea of what's been done. We don't want the packaging to look exactly like the ones in Japan. We are looking for something different, new, and appealing to the customers in the United States.
