We are designing an 11"x17" poster to give to middle schools across
Boulder County (Colorado) advertising our thematic summer academic
program. This summer, our theme is "Innovation & Impact: Change Through Creativity." We plan to look at existing innovative ideas and designs, especially finding inventors who have positively impacted the Earth and who have really thought "outside the box" in terms of innovatin in a number of fields-- Innovation in Education, Innovation in Medicine, Innovation in Technology, Innovation pertaining to energy (there is a man in Denver, CO who created a solar light bulb, for instance), Innovation in Transportation (there is a man creating an evacuated tubular transport technology), etc.---genuine inventors/creative thinkers who have made a tremendous impact or are in the process of doing so.
We would like the poster to:
-be easy and quick to read, not overly "busy" : a central image would be good but not essential
-appeal to high-achieving middle school students ages 11-13 years old
We would like the poster to avoid:
-many little pictures or a "collage" effect
-image or images of humans, especially children
We would like the words "Innovation & Impact" to be highlighted on the poster (in large font, brighter color, etc.) and the words "Change Through Creativity" to stand out but not be as big as "Innovation & Impact."
On the poster, we also want four lines to clearly read:
"Dawson Summer Initiative"
"A Program for High-Achieving Students"
"June 8-July 8, 2016" (dates bolded)
(see past poster images below for reference)
