CauseShare
We are building CauseShare to allow people to create personalized destinations on the web for the causes that are important to them. A cause can be anything to a walk-a-thon the user is a part of to a charity or organizations that is important to the user. CauseShare will integrate with many social media tools (Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Gmail, etc) to allow its users to spread the word about their cause and attract people to their personalized destinations where they share about their cause and themselves. This is what sets CauseShare apart. We need a creative and ambitious individual to create a great initial design for our website that will shape our service and our brand. This is the first step we have made in design, so there are NO limits. We will be awarding the prize to the design that is most daring and ambitious, not the design that is exactly what we are looking for, but the design that we should be looking for!
CauseShare is used by people very active in social media. They are usually, but not always, very well educated. They are very active and involved online and offline. They all care about their friends, the world, and the people who live on it. They are between 18 and 45. They have a wide array of passions and interests but they appreciate the simple things in life. They like things that are functional and make sense, but are also interesting and dynamic. If they were a car, they would be a Jeep Wrangler, if they were a dog, they would be Border Collie, and if they were a President, they would be John Adams, revolutionary. We want our target customer to come to the website and go down a very clear path, and understand the benefit, but at the same time, feel like they are able to customize and explore a bit in their experience.
We are running this contest to develop a KILLER homepage that explains CauseShare. So many websites suck because they stay within the same old boundaries. We want our homepage to be ENGAGING but also VERY UNDERSTANDABLE. We have very few requirements as we are starting from scratch and want to leverage YOUR expertise and creativity in design and branding, but here are the 2 things we need:
1. A Homepage
-Introduce CauseShare at the top
-Communicate our tagline – “share with friends, raise money.”
-Most importantly, the three segments of the body or page should be the how to use CauseShare in a very INTERESTING and GRAPHICAL manner:
1. CREATE or JOIN a Cause
2. BUILD your Profile
3. SHARE your Cause
-Lastly, communicate somehow (graphics or words), somewhere on the homepage, the benefit of our service (Raise money through your social networks)
We love the way http://www.adidas.com used images to sell their brand, but be creative.
Overall, It just has to be ENGAGING and UNDERSTANDABLE. Homepage should be BRIGHT, EXCITING, and FUN. Not lots of dark colors.
Secondly:
We need an identity and logo for CauseShare. The logo should be text based. The identity should be something we can carry throughout the site, and it might be a color/image/graphic/or character. Really this is the time we desperately need you to be creative and give us something to build our brand around!
Good Luck!
