Child Care is a collection of Australian based local Child Care directories.
The directories have been successful for well over 2 years now, but the
original websites have both dated and grown significantly, and are they now
very much in need of a redesign.
note that there will be significant functionality changes to the existing
website, and it should only be used for reference.

the logo can be downloaded at:
A second version of the logo can be found at
looking for 2 page concepts (landing page and a search results page).
page for the parent directory - This will basically just be the gateway to all
of the local directories. The current version of this can be found at: http://localchildcare.com.au/home
landing page requires a very prominent postcode/suburb search, three calls to
action including newsletter signup, some body copy, and several text boxes. The
logos for the other directories should not be included.
should steer right away from blue and orange, as competitor uses these colours.
Suggestions are a light purple mixed with another colour from the logo –
anything too bright (like yellow) has been tried and is not recommended.
Google Maps results page - This will basically be a detail page using the
design of the landing page but containing Google Maps content. An example of
the content can be found at:
the key requirement is simply a fresh concept. I'd recommend modern, clean,
professional and web 2.0 as possible starting points, but since this is about
concepting am totally open to ideas. Something we would like ot make clear is
that the site is targetted to adults and not to kids, and professionalism and
trust are important. Anything too "kiddy" will not get that across.
looking to pay for the concept that we think most closely fits the bill
(whether we use it or not), which we hope makes for a slightly different
contest in that we are looking for fresh ideas and creative executions rather
than finished and polished designs.
We do not
exit contests early. We pay promptly. We are happy to provide references,
portfolio pieces and credit.
