doume got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Consultancy and services business web site
Check out doume's Web page design contest…
The web site should replace the current web site www.linkwork.co.uk which is already 2 years old and is not accurate any more.
What's your vision?
Desired Style: The design should be clean, minimal, web 2.0-ish. It should apply to our consultancy business field. Accepted File Formats: Photoshop psd Our current web site does not match either our expectation from an ergonomic, image, customer interaction and look and feel point view. Our business is not any more exclusively within the web solutions area but also provide interim management, business development, sales training, etc. We aim to make the web site interactive enough to encourage our customer to come back and visit us. It also aims to be a nice show room of our web solutions department (although the department is very tiny) Layout: The web site will encompasses 3 columns .Here is an example of the css framework to give you some idea (however the width of the columns is free) http://www.contentwithstyle.co.uk/resources/css-framework/?css=layout-navtop-3col.css . The web site will be designed for 800px display, the height of the page may vary, on the background of the 800px page you can work on any kind of border shadow or image background Corporate ID The logo is rather basic, feel free to improve the logo currently on www.linkwork.co.uk . There are some other samples on www.linkwork.co.uk/jdd/public/documents/logo/logo-linkwork2007.zip . You can also suggest something completely different; however Id rather like to keep it fairly simple and rather smaller than the logo currently online. Desired Colour Scheme: Feel free to suggest anything different than the current www.linkwork.co.uk colour scheme, In all situations the colour scheme must be consistent with the logo colour scheme you are going to use. The new logo colour scheme (blue and orange) is brighter than the previous one, we would rather recommend such a colour scheme. Page Content The content will be: -logo: top left, I have attached 2 logos with different shape -page header (may include base-line or random slogan, possibly image or flash). -search box -horizontal menu with (home, about us, contact us, site map) -left column: Menu = list of our solutions such as consultancy, interim management, training, business development, marketing. At the bottom of the list frame including some text about web solutions (this frame will divert to our web solutions section). -right column is rather the customer interaction section: first paragraph will be random testimonial + hyperlink to the testimonial page, below a frame or little paragraph that link to our Blog, then at the bottom the latest paragraph to register to our newsletter . -Footer will include ©, extranet link, site map, etc -breadcrumb on every page (not home) -Body will include a random quote, a short text (sort of mission statement) and our news (RSS). The template should be easily customisable as some of the pages will not display the 3rd column (body needs more width). Notes: Its my first time I host a template contest, so Im not really sure Im doing it right, and I am open to suggestions.
