How SkillStore started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
What we do: Offer a free mobile app that enables learners to build their people skills through practice in real-life professional scenarios. They can sign up and start using SkillStore immediately. Employees can practice their people skills and get feedback on their people skills so that they can improve. Managers can see how far along their team is in working on their people skills, and can choose modules and invite users to participate in SkillStore.
Target Audience: Team leader in small to medium businesses in the US (with 50 – 5000 employees) who acknowledges that people skills can be developed and improved in everyone and wants his/her team members to improve their people skills, but doesn’t have an easy way to do this that will make a real difference. Likely to be an early adopter (tech savvy, willing to try new things).
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
Visual Style: Clean, crisp, minimalistic. Looks professional and high-end. Color scheme that complements or matches existing logo (see enclosed file).
Responsive designs – various PC/laptop screen sizes and resolutions all the way down to tablet and mobile phone screens
1. Home Page
2. Take the Tour Page
See enclosed file "Website Content Brief" with more detailed instructions for these two pages.
What to avoid
Busy, cluttered look, with too many things competing for attention.
After we have the final PSD files from the design contest, we will have a developer turn these into HTML pages that can be updated by us without needing further development support. They will likely use a content management system (e.g., Wordpress, WIX, Squarespace) to enable us to do this. Knowing that these systems often have limitations on what exactly you can do with their templates, please don't add fancy features in your design that might trip us up in the development phase.
