Phawkins got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Create an interface that will present the world's top learning management system
Check out Phawkins's Web page design contest…
We sell a learning management system (LMS) and we need to have a demonstration website to show it off - this website won't be a public site - it will be a demonstration of the LMS itself. Our clients are corporate customers and we want them to see how LMS features might look within their intranet. So we want a site that has a really attractive and corporate feel. Every time we use it we would substitute the client's own colours, logo and a few of their news items. The site will need to have a spot where the LMS can insert some things - probably "My learning" (courses the person is enrolled in) and a few other sections. The task then is to create a generic 1-page portal that might be a company's intranet. It would be made to let us brand it every time we use it. We would have a section that shows a list of courses and another section that shows a learning path (a learning path is a flow chart that the LMS produces to tell someone about what they need to study next). Don't worry about mocking up these things - we'll insert them, but if you can design the rest of the site with a placeholder for them that would be perfect.
