We are looking to bring the power of websites like elance.com to the local community. The website will allow local service providers to create online profiles showcasing their skills, images, etc.
The goal of the site is to provide more than phone-book results. To be listed, a service provider will have to provide enough profile information to make it useful for a service seeker to look through.
The directory will be used to display all sorts of professionals: doctors, designers, lawyers, etc. Profile data will change from one to the next, but there needs to be some sort of structure within profile pages to maintain consistency.
Nothing niche, anybody looking for a service provider. This may include general population looking for a carpet cleaner, or a more advanced user looking for a web developer with experience in Google Maps V3 API.
Utilize the existing frame - logo top left corner, search box top right, and footer, are already in place, and we'd like to keep them.
Everything between the header and footer is up to you. The data that has to be displayed in laid out in a table for your reference, and varies from one profile to the next, to give you an idea of how data will change.
Once again - the data in the grid is not an indication of what we want the design to look, it is simply a dump of all profile data, and it varies from one industry to the next.
Keep in mind, different profile types (or industries) will have different information. Web designers will have a "portfolio" section with images, doctors will not. We are open on ideas to making the profile as flexible as possible to accommodate different industries, yet consistent enough to not confuse the online visitors.
Please don't use any stock photography, obviously it would not be applicable for this page. I am looking for a nice layout, colors, buttons, etc.
Attached is a layout I made for a result page, it should have most of the elements in there to use for frame.
We have created 4 dummy listings in 4 industries: Carpet Cleaning, Doctor, Lawyer and Web Developer. These are the links:
