Hey everyone we have another great contest. The company is a trade-only manufacturer of custom printed business products. They print business forms and posters on various paper stock. Their current website is at http://matcoforms.com/. You can go there to see what they do. Even though what they do looks relatively simple, they have a national client base and feel that they are very good at what they do.
Mat-Co Business Forms Inc.
Desired Color Scheme:
Browns, tans, greens and soft colors. Park Blue which is between Royal and Navy. It is not turquoise. stay away from excessively bright (as in hot pink).
Accepted File Formats:
They consider the following companies to be their peer competitors. When you look at these sites, you will see that they look pretty industrial. I think we can create a considerably nicer looking site and still keep a clean uncluttered site.
Ennis Inc.: http://www.ennis.com
Wise Business Forms: http://www.wbf.com
The Flesh Company: http://188.8.131.52/AboutUs/CompanyH…fault.aspx
Printegra: http://www.printegra.com (I think this is the best graphical design of the bunch)
Their logo can be found on http://wsinashville.com/matco/matco-logo.jpg
Requested layout for the home page from the client looks like this:
The bottom three boxes are there to describe the three types of forms that they print. If we could create a stylized graphic effect to represent these types of forms in that area it would be great. Maybe that graphic goes in the background of each box above.
A snapout has a stub at the top and usually has multiple parts.(I think of something like a book of business checking account deposit slips with the carbon copiesthough in this case the forms are connected laterally rather than vertically.)
A continuous is perforated top and bottom because each form is connected to the one above and below. There are rows of holes on each side. (Structurally I think of old style green bar computer paper that has the holes on each side that you tear off. However graphically speaking we are not using the old green bar paper; it can contain anything in the form area.
A laser cut sheet is simply one sheet of paper usually but not always printed. We do 8.5 x 11 and 8.5 x 14. (I think of this one as a poster)
The client likes browns, tans, greens and soft colors. There is a Park Blue that is a color that a lot of his customers use and they are quite picky about the exact shade. Park Blue is between Royal and Navy. It is not turquoise. We need to stay away from excessively bright (as in hot pink.) The other person with significant input into this website has done magazine editing and is more artistic. She would like to see if we can include incorporate some of the colors often used in forms, such as canary, pale pink, green, white, etc.
They would prefer the front page show up with no scrolling. Im not sure we can do that using the above design on a standard monitor size. (With the number of small laptops out there and people not always using full screen for their web browser I want to use the next size down from 1024) So do your best to get it into the smaller screen but dont worry too much yet.
The following links will appear on the home page: Home, Forms, Services, Request a Quote, Dealer Login, Contact Us, and About Us. We will create the following submenus:
o Laser Cut Sheets
Services: Nothing at this time
Request A Quote:
