Rader Family Farms
We're a small, family owned farm in Central IL. During late summer and early fall, we open the working farm to the public. We offer the sweetest sweet corn in the Midwest and then later on around harvest, we offer pumpkins (both pick your own and pre-picked and washed , gourds, corn mazes, animal petting areas, wagon rides, haybale climbing towers, face painting, and all those other traditional fall harvest festival types of activities.
This site will target the general local public and many of the local schools who bring children out to the farm during the school year. This site is intended to help brand the farm to the community at large. Since this is a seasonal activity, there will be a long period of time each year when the site is not being used and rarely viewed. For that period of time, we create a page just noting when the farm will be open again the following fall.
Basically, we're looking for two page designs.
• One is the homepage, which is going to be used to draw people into the site. We want to be able to include some decent sized photos on the homepage that we'll use flash to rotate. There also needs to be a image or indicator that can be used to funnel school related requests for class trips. There also needs to be an area where we can highlight what's coming up on the next weekend or promote something in particular. The color theme should target earthy fall colors (oranges, yellows, browns, blacks, etc.
• The other page we need is simply a secondary page template with a top and right nav availability. All navigation will be the same on all subsidiary pages. The nav on the homepage may be slightly different that the secondary page, but your task would be to com up with a top header and left nav that all content will fit in.
• Some other pumpkin farm sites that we think are well done include:
• We do have a logo which you can use, but you'll need to add color to it as it's just a B&W eps at this point. It's located at http://www.mirusresearch.com/rff/logo.jpg
• We need the final output in layered PSD file.
